A Legacy of Generations – Imperial Group
Company Heritage
The Imperial Group was established in 1931 by Mr. Abdul Ghani Khan (Late) with the founding of Imperial Electric Company. In its early years, the company laid a strong foundation and was later passed on to his sons, Mr. Abdul Rehman (Late) and Mr. Atta ur Rehman (Late) in the early 1940s.
Both brothers played a key role in strengthening and expanding the group. In the mid-1950s, they partnered with Mr. Sheikh Abdul Mannan (Late) and Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Siddiqui (Late), further broadening the group’s operations into multiple public and private sector ventures.

With the leadership of Mr. Ata-ur-Rehman (Late), the facilities expanded steadily, and by 1954, a full-scale manufacturing plant was established in Lahore under the name:
Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (EMCO)
This facility developed into a major insulator manufacturing plant, supported by technical collaboration, machinery, and expertise from Japan and France.
